Voice Design Engineer

-The ideal candidate will have worked implementing and supporting VoIP, IP Telephony, Session Border Controllers and Carrier SIP services on a Cisco infrastructure in large scale investment banks.

Any exposure to Avaya ACM, ASM and / or Cisco CUCM would be a distinct advantage.

Any experience with Verizon, AT&T or British Telecom SIP environments would be an advantage.

The candidate should be used to verifying proposed implementations or solutions in a Lab environment, and subsequently be able to help deploy the systems in production.

The candidate should have experience in documenting processes and procedures.

This includes setting up the hardware, connecting the equipment to the lab network, configuring the telephony environment, and loading the necessary software on the equipment.

Main responsibilities include:

? Contribute to Strategic plan for migrating services to Carrier SIP environments

? Must have a good knowledge of SIP and H323 protocols

? Contribute to procedure guides for break fix activities

? Contribute to policies for applying patches and upgrades

? Contribute to planning and deployment of tools solutions for Carrier SIP and environments

? Deploying and/or upgrading SBC?s and SIP carrier services

? Proficiency in system administration and support of Acme SBC?s

? Possess a strong working knowledge of the data networks and QoS

? Possess a strong working knowledge of the Avaya ACM, ASM and CUCM from a call routing perspective (not a system admin)

? Must have a good knowledge of maintenance procedures and reports.

? Must have the ability to train users on Acme SBC, SIP protocol and Carrier SIP environments

? Must have 5 years of experience working with SBC?s and Carrier SIP

Acme SBC?s, SIPREC, Cisco Voice Gateways, Avaya Session Manager, Avaya Communications Manager, Data Network fundamentals, Cisco Routers and Switches, Quality of Service (QoS), Datacentre Builds, Wireshark, Network Probes, MS Office, Viso, Change, Knowledge of encryption and security, Management and ITIL Incident & Problem Management Knowledge
