Mobile Solutions – Sr. Build Configuration Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Senior Build Specialist you will be a critical member of the delivery team for Fortune 500 mobile apps that are used in markets all over the world. The ideal candidate will need to have a strong background in native OS application development, ideally in the mobile space before moving into the DevOps/Build Configuration management field. Extraordinary attention to detail and a love of the software build/deployment process are key to the success of an individual in this role. Excellent written and verbal communication with internal team members and client stakeholders is critical. The person in this role is the gatekeeper for an app that goes out to tens of millions of customers around the world and must have the experience, maturity and discipline to deliver high-quality, consistent app builds on time, every time.

 

 

 

 

Extra Credit:

  • Knowledge of Fastlane is a big plus
  • Comfortable moving between a variety of environments and languages
  • Pipelines as code and scripting Jenkins with Groovy
  • Familiarity with Scrum or other agile development methodologies

 

 

Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

 

 

Job Requirements:

Role Summary: Contractor will work as a critical member of the delivery team for our food service client’s global mobile application. Will work primarily on-site at client offices in Oak Brook (minimum 3 days/week).

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage multiple Git development code repositories
  • Deep understanding of Git
  • Create, configure and manage Jenkins build automation
  • Experience with Bash, Python, Ruby, Ant, Gradle and/or other programming languages commonly used during the setup for automating build processes
  • Configure and manage code coverage and quality assessment tools (SonarQube, etc.)
  • Maintain numerous configuration files both local and remote
  • Document all processes in detail using Confluence, Gliffy, etc.
  • Automate the delivery of multiple native iOS and Android apps targeting multiple environments and global markets every week
  • Support the packaging and distribution of beta builds every week
  • Package and release production app builds every 4 to 6 weeks
  • Problem solving in a proactive and efficient manner
  • Be responsible for the quality of your work throughout its lifecycle
  • Frequent travel may be required
  • In depth experience with Jenkins and other automation build tools
