Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Analyst with a strong passion for Test & Learn (experimental design), measuring and reporting on marketing effectiveness, leveraging advanced statistical and data-mining techniques for deep-dive analyses that provide the business with data-driven insights.

 

In this highly dynamic and fast-paced environment, this individual will be responsible for driving complex analyses that will support Marketing’s CRM and sales goals by leveraging testing and measurement to assess marketing and various business opportunities. They will be integral in transforming the way that the Organization consumes and reacts to customer data.  This position will have the opportunity to present findings and share insights with multiple business leaders throughout the organization including merchandising, marketing, supply chain, operations, finance etc.

 

The role is positioned within our Customer & Business Analytics department.  The Customer & Business Analytics department is a World Class Analytics group, responsible for providing actionable insights into various aspects of the business to drive value and support improvements within the business.   Analytic focus areas include Marketing Analytics, Customer Intelligence, CRM & Optimization as well as Web Analytics.

Responsibilities:

·         Collects data to measure & analyze return-on-investment across several key marketing and business initiatives (e.g., Direct Mail, E-mail, etc)

·         Develop, manage and utilize new tools for marketing measurement

·         Perform campaign response analysis to understand the sales lift & ROI associated with each program to aid in the development of future strategies

·         Integrate experimental design (DOE) best practices to ensure that marketing tests and experiments are setup and executed in an accurate manner

·         Provide recommendations on analytical methodologies and frameworks to be utilized for a various analytical projects

·         Perform and manage all the end-to-end steps required for analyses including requirements gathering, methodology development, data pulling, data processing, analysis, insight formulation and results delivery

·         Facilitate requirements gathering with Marketing and other business partners to target, execute and construct customer-level analytics.  This includes but not limited to creating reporting templates (wireframes) and aligning on analysis objectives and KPIs

·         Work with cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of analytics projects & initiatives

·         Integrate best-in-class analytical & statistical and data-mining techniques to provide meaningful insights

·         Generate reports, documentation and scoring code as part of the analysis process.  Produce expected performance measures including lifts, efficiencies, confidence intervals and other statistical measures

·         Execute appropriate quality control procedures for analysis, reporting and scoring and audit statistical analysis for accuracy

·         Support the building of analytical capabilities and solutions (EDA, segmentation, modeling, campaign evaluations, etc) that enable analytics to support the strategic goals of the Company

·         Review, analyze and present qualitative and quantitative analysis and data to Marketing Senior Management and other business partners

·         Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables that meet expectations while balancing business needs with the appropriate level of analytical rigor

·         Leverage story-telling skills to deliver insights that are clear, concise and actionable

·         Experience in calculating incremental lift from marketing campaigns

·         Clear understanding of financial, statistical and economic concepts such as ROI analysis

·         Reconcile divergent demands of multiple stakeholders in a  fast work environment      

·         Prior retail analytics experience strongly preferred

·         Experience in data analysis and its translation into client recommendations

·         Experience in project management preferred

 

Education/Certification:             

·         Minimum of  MA/MS in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field

 

Required Knowledge:                 

·         High Proficiency with SQL and Statistical Packages, specifically SAS (BASE SAS, Enterprise Guide, Enterprise Miner)

·         Experience with Data visualization tools like Tableau and Microstrategy Visual Insights

·         Knowledge of industry best practices with respect to marketing measurement, data-mining, experimental design and other statistical techniques

·         Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, macros and v-lookups

·         Experience in analytics presentation building

 

Experience Required:                 

·         5-8 years of experience in analytics within retail, preferably focused on Marketing or Business Analytics
