Job Description:

This position is part of the Derivatives & Collateral team responsible for the management of the Cleared Derivatives, OTC Derivative Settlement, Confirmations and Collateral Management. The individual is will be responsible to help support the team in documenting, and improving the F2B processes in each area. The candidate will be also involved with driving vendors in alternate locations by recommending and implementing actions to enhance UBS processes, realize concrete benefits to the business, and ultimately reduce costs incurred within the team. 

The candidate will work closely with the Operations teams (Middle and Back), the front office, risk analysts, collateral managers, financial controllers, and confirmation controllers to ensure that the link is made among risk, settlement and confirmation functions. Also, he or she will drive some activities related to cost management to understand our cost base and plan and control cost associated factors within team and help make decisions that would increase value for customers and lower costs of services. The individual will need to keep up with current market initiatives and play as a key participant and contributor of subject matter expertise in driving the process improvement initiatives, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of the initiatives and associated progress updates. 

Excellent time management skills are required as the candidate should be working in multi-tasking environments. The candidate must work within key deadlines and possess excellent problem solving skills to resolve internal/external issues, including IT related problems.

• Maintain a good working relationship with both internal clients and stakeholders 
• Communicate and escalate issues / progress clearly, concisely and on a timely basis and manage expectations accordingly. Ensure all issues are tracked to resolution or escalated as required.
People
• Require a strong team player – flexible in approach, and that is dedicated in achieving team goals
• Drive and commitment is essential as the role requires the individual needs to be a self-starter able to run with new projects and process flows
Economic
• Important that candidate has basic knowledge of risk from an Operations perspective (transaction execution and processing risks) and fully understands importance of managing and escalating risk and therefore mitigating P&L implications
• Candidate must be able to quickly acquire the skills required to learn the current processes and show initiative to be able to challenge and improve these processes (with the view to further enhance STP and eliminate waste) (Process Improvement / Business Analysis experience is a significant plus)
Functional/Technical
• Root cause analysis of issues and reporting results to team and management
• Continuously improve processes to increase STP and eliminate waste
Good front to back knowledge of Derivatives and Collateral flows and systems.
