
Thomas Jefferson University: PeopleSoft Implementation and Upgrade (Oracle)
Challenge
Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) is an academic health center based in Philadelphia, PA that consists of Jefferson Medical College, the College of Graduate Studies, the College of Health Professions and associated University services. The university needed to upgrade its PeopleSoft HRMS solution.
Originally awarding the business analysis and project planning to a Starpoint competitor, the university soon realized this competitor was not meeting the required timeframe: TJU had to upgrade before PeopleSoft support would discontinue. The university then asked Starpoint to bid on the implementation, training, and rollout. Starpoint had previously successfully implemented TJU’s PeopleSoft financials upgrade, so the university knew how reliable Starpoint and its team were.
Solution
Starpoint was unanimously selected by the TJU team to provide a total project solution for its PeopleSoft HRMS department. Starpoint’s PeopleSoft practice team upgraded the university’s payroll, personnel, and benefits applications.
The Starpoint team of 10 full-time professionals, including project managers, and functional and technical experts, worked in concert with TJU’s department heads and its IT group. Starpoint also implemented new PeopleSoft e-modules:
